Canada’s 25th International Methodology Symposium,
“Longitudinal Surveys: from Design to Analysis” to be held in
Gatineau, Quebec, Canada. Members of the community, such as
those researchers with private research organizations, governments,

issues specific to longitudinal surveys, are invited to attend.

The 2nd Arab Statistical Conference in Tripoli, under
the Slogan No Development without Statistics.
The objectives are: to call on Arab Statisticians from government
statistical agencies, Universities, International and regional
organizations, policy makers, planners or any other users, to
get together and to announce and emphasize the importance of
good statistical work, and to point out the role of the National
Statistical Organizations, and the need of Capacity building
in statistics.

African Statistics Day Celebrations.
Organized by the UN Commission for Africa and the African Centre
for Statistics. This day was adopted in 1990 by the United Nations
Economic Commission for Africa and the 16th meeting
of African Ministers responsible for Economic Planning and Development
to be celebrated each year in order to increase public awareness
about the important role which statistics play in all aspects
of social and economic life of the continent.
