July 11 - 16	ICOTS 8 - Data and Context in Statistics Education: Towards an Evidence-Based Society - to be held in the Ljubljana Cultural and Congress Centre at Cankarjev Dom, Ljubljana, Slovenia. Contributed Paper Sessions will be arranged in a variety of areas. It is being organised by the IASE : The International Association for Statistics Education seeks to improve statistics education at all levels from elementary (primary) school through to the training of professionals, and to increase the uptake of statistics education world wide. It fosters international cooperation, and stimulates discussion and research. IASE disseminates ideas, strategies, research findings, materials, and information using publications, international conferences, and increasingly its website. and the Slovenian Statistical Association. Those interested in submitting an invited paper should contact the appropriate Session Organiser before 1^stDecember 2008. Contributed paper sessions will be arranged in a variety of areas. July 26 - 30	6^th International Conference on Lévy Processes: Theory and Applications. This conference will be held at the Technical University at Dresden, Germany. October 20	UNSD World Statistics Day. The objective of World Statistics Day is to celebrate the many contributions of official statistics and, for 2010 in particular, the conduct of the population and housing census around the world. The day would raise awareness on various levels: in countries, in the regions and globally. As an ultimate goal, the celebration of the World Statistics Day would acknowledge the service provided by the global statistical system at national and international level, and hope to help strengthen the awareness and trust of the public in official statistics.
